Cortland is 0-3 against Westhill since April of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Purple Tigers will welcome the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Cortland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Cal Albright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Cortland got a massive performance out of Caden Albright, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Albright has posted since back in April of 2024. Zach Muir was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Cortland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Westhill came up short against Phoenix on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westhill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Holstein, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Cortland's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Westhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Westhill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cortland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. It's a different story for Westhill, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Cortland's hitters?
