Asher Coston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Mt. Carmel got a massive performance out of River Deisher, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Deisher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Santiago Guanipa, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Mt. Carmel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only managed six.
Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
