Centennial scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Anoka, 41-13. At the time, the Tornadoes was ranked 15th in the state, while the Cougars was 116th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Centennial, who took down 15th ranked Anoka, 41-13.
Connor Wilkie threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns. He was 13-21 with zero interceptions.
Alex Copa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Blaine lost to Maple Grove. He completed 16 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown and also ran for seven yards. Copa's favorite target this week was Connor Spurbeck, who caught five passes for 146 yards.
Kristian Manthey was the most productive running back in Northwest Suburban this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 139 yards as Jeff Buerkle's team lost to the Crimson. Reid Lindsay also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.
Andover's Wilkie and Tyler Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilkie has thrown for 910 yards this season, while Evans has 22 catches for 305 yards. Michael Sales from Champlin Park leads the league in rushing with 459 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Huskies take on Osseo. Andover is in seventh place, while the Orioles are in second place.
Totino-Grace extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Suburban this week by beating Park Center, 42-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.
