Penns Valley Area simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Philipsburg-Osceola 62-25 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Penns Valley Area has posted against Philipsburg-Osceola since January 14, 2020.
Leading Penns Valley Area to victory were Kayla Hopkins and Ellie Romig. Hopkins dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Romig scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Johnson, who scored ten points.
Penns Valley Area's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penns Valley Area will take on Clearfield at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Clearfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Central is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
