The St. Francis Sharks came tearing into Monday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Pajaro Valley 49-23. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-11.
St. Francis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaliysah Gomez, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. Gomez also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Calfee, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
St. Francis' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Pajaro Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
St. Francis will head out on the road to take on King City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. King City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while St. Francis is ranked 424th). As for Pajaro Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m.
