The Riverside Prep Silver Knights's 23-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 62-54 to Calvary Baptist on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Riverside Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1191st, while Calvary Baptist is ranked 534th).
Despite the loss, Riverside Prep had strong showings from Raoul Churchill, who scored 16 points, and James Macey, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Nicholas Golden was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Riverside Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Calvary Baptist, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside Prep will take on Academy for Academic Excellence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Baptist, they will be playing at home against Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
