Leading Independence to victory were Jodi Regondola and Ashjeet Kaur. Regondola scored 13 points, while Kaur scored 17 points.
Independence's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Sequoia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Independence will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cupertino at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Sequoia will be home for the holidays to greet Mountain View at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sequoia in California (Mountain View is ranked 239th, while Sequoia is ranked 519th).
