Triumph Charter extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 16-6. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Community Charter Titans. Considering the Jaguars have won 13 contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Triumph Charter let Gilberto Estevez and Anthony Cruz run wild. Estevez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Cruz went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Cruz has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Triumph Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
As for Community Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. They haven't had much luck with Triumph Charter recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
On Community Charter's side, Julian De Haro put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. De Haro was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Community Charter's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-4-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Erick Trujillo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Angel Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Triumph Charter nor Community Charter have any future games scheduled.
