Baseball Recap: Druid Hills Has No Trouble Against Redan

Redan typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Druid Hills proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Raiders 8-1. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Druid Hills got a great performance from Tyler Horner as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caelan Rogers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alex Balsamo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Druid Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Redan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Druid Hills will look to defend their home field on Monday against St. Pius X Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The Golden Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redan, they are taking a road trip to take on Fellowship Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
