The Sachse Mustangs had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Garland 49-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Sachse, who have now won five contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Sachse was led to victory by Brendon Haygood and Brenden George. Haygood gained 150 total yards and two touchdowns, while George threw for 359 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt. Haygood's longest reception was for an incredible 94 yards.
Sachse's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for South Garland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Sachse will head out on the road to face off against Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wylie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Sachse is ranked 68th). As for South Garland, they will be playing at home against Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
