The Beyer Patriots will square off against the Burbank Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beyer is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Beyer barely beat Johansen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots blew past the Vikings 15-5 on Thursday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Matthew Correia and Buzz Richards did most of the damage at the plate: Correia went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Richards went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Correia has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was John Capous, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Beyer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Burbank was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 6-1 to Center. The Titans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Burbank saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Duplessis III, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Beyer's win bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Burbank, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Beyer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Burbank struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
