After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alameda, the Encinal Jets were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They blew past Mt. Eden 58-18 at home. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for Encinal this season.
Encinal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazzy Alcantar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Lola Whalen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 21 rebounds.
Encinal is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Mt. Eden, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-17.
Encinal won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Encinal is facing St. Joseph Notre Dame at the right time seeing as St. Joseph Notre Dame is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Mt. Eden, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hayward at 6:30 p.m. Hayward will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mt. Eden surely won't give up without a fight.
