The Stevenson Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Etna Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Stevenson sitting on five straight wins and Etna on six.
Stevenson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lincoln a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Hall made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Jack Bucich and Tono Borgomini did most of the damage at the plate: Bucich went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Borgomini went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Borgomini has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Phinn Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Stevenson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Etna was able to grind out a solid victory over Los Molinos on Thursday, taking the game 9-6.
Etna gave Emmett Stacher the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stacher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Hubbard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four runs and one triple. Ashton Elam was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Etna pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Stevenson, their record now sits at 21-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stevenson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Etna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
