Basketball Recap: Lakeside's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Lakeside came into Tuesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 35-30 victory over the Citrus Hill Hawks on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Hawks back in December of 2024, they had to take a 29-20 loss.

Lakeside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aeiress Hearn, who posted six points in addition to 13 rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Hearn a new career-high in boards. Elise Henderson was another key player, putting up 11 steals and seven rebounds.

Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Lakeside's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-12. As for Citrus Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Lakeside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-24 win against Vista del Lago on the 23rd. Citrus Hill has also already played their next contest, a 37-25 victory against Arlington on the 23rd.
