The Leigh Longhorns will head out on the road to square off against the Santa Teresa Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Teresa took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Leigh, who comes in off a win.
Leigh had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Thursday against Piedmont Hills by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
Leigh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daphne Glim led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Glim posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Chen, who scored five points along with eight steals.
Santa Teresa suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a tough 55-30 defeat at the hands of Willow Glen. Santa Teresa has not had much luck with Willow Glen recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The win got Leigh back to even at 7-7. As for Santa Teresa, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Leigh came up short against Santa Teresa in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, falling 48-37. Can Leigh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
