Gary Merrill Delivers Best Performance of Season
Sadly, Gary Merrill posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead St. Anthony over Iona Prep on Friday. Merrill rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023.
Unfortunately for Iona Prep, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Merrill. Merrill rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes the last time he and the Gaels duked it out back in September of 2023.
