The Ceres Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Los Banos Tigers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Ceres snuck past the Tigers with a 38-32 win on Thursday. That's two games straight that Ceres has won by exactly six points.
Ceres' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marissa Renteria, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Renteria also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Arrayah Stallworth was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Ceres' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. As for Los Banos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.
Ceres will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Davis has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 8. As for Los Banos, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacheco is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
