The Martin County Gators were able to grind out a solid  win over the Hertford County Bears on Thursday, taking the game  29-16. The Gators pushed the score to  22-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears cut but never quite recovered from.
 Hertford County lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Ayden Everette, who rushed for 116 yards and one  TD. He has become a key player for Hertford County: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  80  rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.  Justin Bunch helped out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards.
