The Roxborough Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber by a score of 56-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roxborough.
Roxborough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Siaharr Simmons led the charge by scoring 18 points along with three steals. Simmons is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Science Leadership Academy at Beeber saw an underclassman step up: Raegan Wells-Bradley scored 34 points.
Roxborough's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roxborough will challenge Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Martin Luther King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Roxborough is ranked 262nd). As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, they will head out on the road to challenge Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Swenson Arts & Tech comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
