Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Fort Chiswell's Third in Last Four Outings

Narrows came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Fort Chiswell, but Owen Jackson wouldn't allow it. The Fort Chiswell Pioneers wrapped up 2024 with a 75-56 victory over the Narrows Green Waves thanks in part to Jackson, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with eight boards and six assists. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Moore, who posted seven points and five rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Fort Chiswell is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Narrows, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Chiswell will welcome Auburn at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Chiswell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Auburn likes a good challenge. As for Narrows, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Highland at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Narrows has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three contests.
