The Army-Navy Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Crawford Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Army-Navy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Army-Navy's tournament run continued when they took on Rock Academy on Thursday. Army-Navy fell just short of Rock Academy by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Army-Navy has suffered against Rock Academy since May 10, 2018.
Kai Huff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crawford). They put the hurt on St. Joseph Academy with a sharp 23-6 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Alexis Carrillo and Abbel Martinez were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Carrillo tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Martinez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Carrillo posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Carrillo scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Martinez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Carrillo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Crawford got a massive performance out of Abraham Carillo-Ceron, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five hits gave Carillo-Ceron a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hector Fuentes, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.
Crawford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Crawford's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Army-Navy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Army-Navy took their win against Crawford in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-6 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
