The Milton Black Panthers will finish 2023 at home by hosting Meadowbrook Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Milton has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Meadowbrook Christian will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Wednesday, Milton came up short against Lewisburg and fell 34-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Milton has scored all season.
Even though Meadowbrook Christian has not done well against Millville recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Meadowbrook Christian took down Millville 46-31. Given Meadowbrook Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Millville is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kailey Devlin, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Meadowbrook Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Fasnacht, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Milton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Meadowbrook Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
