The Chester Volcanoes came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Burney 41-24 on Friday. The victory was just what Chester needed coming off of a 59-32 defeat in their prior match.
Burney lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Autumn Johnson, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Witzel, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Chester now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Burney, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Chester will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. Burney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
