The Castle Park Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Hilltop Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Castle Park has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Hilltop will arrive with six straight victories.
Castle Park suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 42-21 walloping at the hands of Sweetwater.
Castle Park's loss came about despite a quality game from Ahliah Samaniego, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hilltop can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 52-28 margin over Southwest SD. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hilltop has posted against Southwest SD since April 23, 2021.
Castle Park's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Hilltop, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Castle Park might still be hurting after the 53-27 loss they got from Hilltop in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Castle Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
