James Lick and Mt. Pleasant are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The James Lick Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Lick is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 30-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, James Lick was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 34-33 to Overfelt.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They breezed by San Jose on the road to the tune of 62-31. Mt. Pleasant has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Snowe DeLeon, who scored 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Jayden Perez was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
James Lick's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
James Lick was dealt a bruising 67-14 loss at the hands of Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point James Lick was down 45-13.
