It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Ontario Jaguars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over Chaffey. The win was just what Ontario needed coming off of a 46-25 loss in their prior contest.
Hailey McDow was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Albany Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two blocks.
Ontario pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Chaffey, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ontario and Chino will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chino knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Ontario likes a good challenge. As for Chaffey, Chaffey and Don Lugo will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
