Given Moreau Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Newark Memorial is ranked 790th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Madeline Bader, who scored 21 points along with five assists and two steals. Elisa Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
James Logan pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Moreau Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.
