The Stevenson Pirates will take on the South San Francisco Warriors on Thursday. Stevenson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Stevenson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over Ann Sobrato. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Alex Wang and Phinn Thomas were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Wang pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Thomas struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave Wang a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At bat, Wang went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Thomas went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Henry Blaxter and Jacob Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Blaxter went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Hall went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Hall has posted since back in April.
Stevenson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ann Sobrato only posted an OBP of .343.
Meanwhile, South San Francisco came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Firebirds by a score of 6-3.
Like Stevenson, South San Francisco also got a great game from a two-way player: Emilio Oseguera. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Oseguera was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vince Bernal, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Josh Ornelas, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
South San Francisco pushed their record up to 23-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, their record now sits at 18-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stevenson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South San Francisco struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
