The Winters Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Paradise Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Winters has three straight wins, the Bobcats have eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Winters has not done well against the Bears recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Winters managed a 45-39 win over the Bears.
Jordan Tucker had an outrageously good game as she scored 25 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maci Dodic, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Paradise was the victim of a rough 44-22 defeat at the hands of the RedHawks on Friday. While losing is never fun, Paradise can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1083rd, while the RedHawks are ranked 315th).
Winters' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Paradise, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Winters strolled past the Bobcats in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 37-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winters since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
