Orange had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 8-5 to make it four. They had just enough and edged out the Anaheim Colonists 7-5. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colonists, too.
Evan Gonzalez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Braxton Nock was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Myles Kennedy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Anaheim, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 2, 2025.
On Anaheim's side, Jayden Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Coming up, Orange will square off against Saddleback at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Roadrunners at the right time seeing as the Roadrunners are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Anaheim, they will face off against Western at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Colonists' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
