After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Jacinto Valley Academy, Nuview Bridge was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Hamilton Bobcats with a sharp 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Nelson Lara made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Nuview Bridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise.
