Basketball Recap: Bishop Carroll Piles Up the Points Against Glendale

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bishop Carroll walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Glendale Vikings 56-16. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Vikings are ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Carroll got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adelyn Myers out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Myers is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games she's played. Ava Pablic was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Glendale still got an impressive performance from Madison Peterson, who posted 16 points. That was a full 100% of Glendale's points, marking the fourth time in a row Peterson has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Bishop Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Bishop Carroll will challenge Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy comes in on 14 and Bishop Carroll on three. Glendale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
