Baseball Recap: Strathmore Has No Trouble Against Wonderful College Prep Academy

Strathmore barely beat Wonderful College Prep Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly ten runs.

Ryder Behrens was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Strathmore: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JJ Morales, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Strathmore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Strathmore's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Strathmore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Porterville on the 29th. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 13-0 loss against Woodlake on the 2nd.
