Baseball Recap: Morse Has No Trouble Against Castle Park

Morse won the last time they faced Castle Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Manny Flores was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Miguel Aguigui was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Marcus Westover was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Morse kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Morse's record is now 4-9-1. As for Castle Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morse will welcome Chula Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Castle Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
