The Northgate Broncos will take on the Clovis Cougars in a tournament on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northgate 3.9, Clovis 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Northgate got a great performance from Brandon King as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave King a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Andres Zaragoza Roberts was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Clovis got the win against Oakmont on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-0. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.
Logan Georges tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddox Merrill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Brock Hartmann was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
Clovis is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Northgate, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northgate hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Clovis struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
