The Rock Academy Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Crawford Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rock Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Victory Christian Academy on Monday. Rock Academy was the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Victory Christian Academy. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.
Alec Endicott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Endicott was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Gimbel, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Saathoff, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Rock Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
While Crawford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Guajome Park Academy on Monday as Crawford made off with a 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Alejandro Guzman was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Ray Sanchez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Rock Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Crawford, their record now sits at 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rock Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crawford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rock Academy took their victory against Crawford when the teams last played back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 12-0. Does Rock Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crawford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
