The Waynesburg Central Raiders put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Albert Gallatin by a score of 50-39. Given Waynesburg Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Albert Gallatin is ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waynesburg Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaley Rohanna, who scored 19 points along with five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Rohanna has scored at least 25% of Waynesburg Central's points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Cowell, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Waynesburg Central pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Albert Gallatin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Waynesburg Central and Winter Park will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. Albert Gallatin will finish 2023 at home by hosting Charleroi at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
