The Windber Ramblers can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Meyersdale 51-22 on the road. Given Windber's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Meyersdale is ranked 523rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Windber's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylie Gaye, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Gaye has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Andrews, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Meyersdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Laurel Daniels, who scored seven points along with two blocks. Jessica Daughton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Windber has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Meyersdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windber will take on Southern Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Southern Fulton comes in on six and Windber on three. As for Meyersdale, they will head out on the road to take on Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
