Tate Martell, once labeled Mini-Manziel for his strong arm and play-making skills, has opened up his college recruiting.
The elusive 5-foot-11, 203-pound junior from
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) announced on Twitter that he is no longer committed to Texas A&M, which he pledged to in August.
"After talking with family about what is before for my future, I have decided to reopen my recruiting process," Martell wrote on Twitter.
In two seasons at Bishop Gorman, Martell has completed 257 of 437 attempts for 5,145 yards and 72 touchdowns with just eight interceptions.
His ability to run and avoid pressure makes him a five-star recruit. Martell has rushed 1,037 yards and 14 touchdowns in two seasons.
He's ranked the No. 33 recruit in the country by
247Sports and No. 1 dual threat quarterback.
Though A&M is still in the running, Ohio State, USC and Cal are other strong possibilities according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball.
