The Rancho Cotate Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 87-29 win over Piner. That's another feather in the cap for Rancho Cotate, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Nina Boblitt was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xenia Zabaneh, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Rancho Cotate's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Piner, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Cotate's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Santa Rosa is ranked 497th, while the Cougars are ranked 472nd). As for Piner, they will head out on the road to square off against the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Napa comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
