Basketball Recap: Abigail White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Westmont

Leigh's game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past the Westmont Warriors with a 43-38 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Leigh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abigail White, who posted 14 points and seven boards. That's the most points White has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Catalina Williams, who put up 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Leigh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Leigh pushed their record up to 8-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Westmont, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Leigh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-39 defeat against Santa Teresa on the 30th. As for Westmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-40 victory against Piedmont Hills on the 30th.
