The Sunny Hills Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legacy. While losing is never fun, Sunny Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in California, while Legacy is ranked 15th in Nevada).
When it comes to explaining why Sunny Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kingsley Ashley. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Shim, who scored eight points.
Sunny Hills has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunny Hills will take on Whittier Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Legacy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Del Sol focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday.
