It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Milton Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Collins Hill as Milton made off with a 42-21 win. Milton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Milton was led to victory by CJ Wiley and Luke Nickel. Wiley picked up 174 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Nickel threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes.
Cam Jones and Tj Wilcox certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Jones rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while Wilcox punched in a rushing scores.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Milton, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Collins Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Milton will play host again and welcome Colquitt County, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Colquitt County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 535 points over their last 12 contests. Collins Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
