Sierra is on a five-game streak of home losses, Manteca a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Sierra Timberwolves will welcome the Manteca Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Sierra came up short against Mountain House and fell 51-43. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Mustangs are ranked 166th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Janessa Barnes, who posted six points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Everett, who earned seven points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manteca lost to Oakdale on the road by a 38-24 margin on Tuesday.
Like Manteca, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Amil Gaskins led the charge by putting up five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Pelesasa, who had four points.
Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Manteca, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sierra has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35 boards per game. However, it's not like Manteca struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sierra was able to grind out a solid win over Manteca when the teams last played back in January, winning 57-49. Does Sierra have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manteca turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
