Softball Recap: Lutheran Beats Northridge for Their Sixth Straight Win

Lutheran had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Northridge Grizzlies 12-0. Considering the Lions have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Reese Walker and Elle Beausoleil did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI, while Beausoleil went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Walker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Stanislawski, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted an OBP of .250.

Lutheran's record now sits at 14-4. As for Northridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Lutheran will square off against Palmer Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northridge, they will take on Wellington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
