The St. Anthony Saints will square off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Anthony 3.7, Paraclete 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
St. Anthony is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Long Beach Poly just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 10-2 to the Jackrabbits. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Saints have suffered since June 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paraclete). They put the hurt on Trinity Classical Academy with a sharp 20-6 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Spirits, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Jacobo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julian Trejo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Christian Saenz, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Paraclete always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .414.
The win made it two in a row for Paraclete and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for St. Anthony, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-1.
