Placer extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 13-12 in the process. They fell 9-6 to the Yuba City Honkers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Honkers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-3 loss on Wednesday.

Jack Addison was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Placer's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 8-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Robby Silski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
As for Yuba City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.
Like Placer, Yuba City also got a great game from a two-way player: Eliaja Moncher. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Moncher posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brandon Pelechowicz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since April 2nd.
Placer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against River Valley on the 28th. As for Yuba City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-7 victory against Nevada Union on the 28th.
