The Saint Francis Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Presentation Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Saint Francis and eight for Presentation.
Saint Francis pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory 66-60. Saint Francis has struggled against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Allison Dauer, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Maia Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Presentation took a serious blow against Archbishop Riordan on Friday, falling 77-38. While losing is never fun, Presentation can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Archbishop Riordan is ranked 45th).
Saint Francis' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-8. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Presentation, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Saint Francis strolled past Presentation in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 56-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saint Francis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
