The Madera South Stallions were the 41-36 winner over the Hoover Patriots when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Madera South took a hard 48-31 fall against Hoover on Wednesday.
Madera South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored nine points, and MAYRILIN VASQUEZ who scored seven points. LORTA scored a full 29% of Madera South's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. JALISSA KIRKPATRICK was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Madera South bumped their record down to 7-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hoover, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madera South will take on Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Taylor Sutherland and LORTA. As for Hoover, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Torres at 12:00 p.m.
