Mapleton and New London are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Mapleton Mounties will be playing at home against the New London Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mapleton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Mapleton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 87-49 defeat at the hands of Mansfield Christian.
Meanwhile, New London lost to St. Paul at home by a decisive 47-29 margin last Saturday. While losing is never fun, New London can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while St. Paul is ranked 361st).
Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for New London, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Mapleton against New London in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 63-17 victory. Will Mapleton repeat their success, or does New London have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
